Our Villa... doesn't it look inviting?		We recreated some local favorites that we enjoyed at San Amato.		Wow, what a fabulous kitchen!


The villa is a renovated grist mill.		Whimsical touches everywhere!		We fell asleep so easily in this magical room to the sound of the stream running right outside the window.


Three happy kids watching a DVD we brought--end of another great day!		A room with a view!? This is what we woke up to each morning.		Our first morning--Michael brought me breakfast in the "tiki hut"!


The door from Sam's bedroom and looking up to the backyard? The beautiful stone walls are all around the yard and this tree is stunning!		A little shrine (is there another name for this?) right at the end of our driveway.		Michael and Kirsten at San Amato--well worth the harrowing drive. Halfway up Michael said, "There's no way there's a festival anywhere around here."


Sam and Julia savoring penne with arrabiata sauce and penne with ragu while Kirsten tries the tortellini with ragu.		A short drive to Abbazzia di San Galgano.		View from Chiusdino, a small hill town we happened upon.


A great dinner made with local ingredients.		Sunset at the top of our street.		Julia and I toast a perfect day with sparkling wine made during the full moon--a gift left by the owners.


A perfect spot to read and listen to the stream.		Julia and Elise pick blackberries on our road.		This was the fate of the blackberries! Yum!


The best gelato we had in all of Italy, right in the center of Vinci at the Yogurteria.		An evening stroll through Vinci.		Another short trip to Lucca.


Florence was only an hour away--we spent two mornings here and were back home to relax by early afternoon.		Marry a man who can perform in the kitchen! The kitchen was ideal for cooking and we did just that for five of the nights.		Ciao! Off to Lake Como.
